I've been teaching at San Jose State for several years. I started with technical writing courses in Professional Development,
which is an independent extension of the main campus.
Professional Development Center classes are a great way to focus your education on an area that the main campus doesn't cover. For example, PDC offers courses
in computer tools, like Adobe Acrobat, and technologies, like XML.
I started my career working as a fulltime technical writer. I still do some part-time contract writing, but after ten years
of high-tech stress, I needed a break.
I worked part-time and returned to school. I earned my FAA-approved certificate for aircraft maintanance (A&P). I was lucky
to get through this program before it was dismantled. SJSU is the only 4-year public school in the western US with
an aviation program. See Save SJSU Aviation for information on what's happening at your school. I am also a coach for the SJSU Precision Flight Team.
